Shower Screens and Grout: The Hard Part of Bathroom Cleaning
These two areas make or break a bathroom โ and a bond inspection. Here's how to do them properly.
Glass Shower Screens
1. Spray with a vinegar-water solution or a dedicated soap-scum remover.
2. Leave 5โ10 minutes to break down build-up.
3. Wipe with a non-scratch pad, then squeegee dry to avoid streaks.
4. For hard-water marks, a bicarb paste works on stubborn spots.
Grout
1. Apply a bicarb-soda paste or grout cleaner.
2. Scrub with a stiff brush (an old toothbrush for edges).
3. Rinse and dry. Re-seal if grout is old and porous.
Mould Warning
Black spots in grout are usually mould. Treat it properly โ see mould removal cleaning. Don't just paint over it.
